Election Notice

WHEREAS, as required by law there will be an election in the Albertson Water District on Tuesday, December 08, 2020 for the purpose of electing one (1) Water Commissioner for a term three (3) years: and

WHEREAS, it is the responsibility of the Board of Commissioners to conduct such election;

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the hours of the voting will be between 3:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m., at which hour the polls shall be closed; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the location for voting shall be at the Albertson H&L E&H Co. #1, 100 I.U. Willets Rd. Albertson, New York; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the candidates for the office of Water Commissioner shall file their names with the Secretary of the Board of Water Commissioners or authorized representative at the District office, 184 Shepherd Lane, Roslyn Heights, New York, at least thirty (30) days prior to the date of the District election and, in addition, such nomination must be submitted in petition form subscribed by not less than twenty- five (25) registered voters of the Albertson Water District; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the compensation for all election inspectors and ballot clerks shall be $10.00 per hour in connection with the conduct of the election and a total additional payment of $65.00 in connection with the training and preparation for such election; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that notice of the election and the requirements of this resolution shall be published in NEWSDAY of LONG ISLAND at least forty-five (45) days prior to the date of the election, and otherwise published or posted as prescribed by law; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the provisions of this Resolution shall take effect immediately.

Public Hearing to Consider
Adoption of Budget for the year 2021

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Commissioners of the Albertson Water District will hold a public hearing on Thursday, September 3, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. at the office of the ALBERTSON WATER DISTRICT, 184 Shepherd Lane, Roslyn Heights, New York. The purpose of the hearing is to consider an estimate of proposed expenditures and revenues for the year beginning January 1, 2021. A copy of the proposed budget is available for public inspection between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., Mondays through Fridays at the Water District office located at 184 Shepherd Lane, Roslyn Heights, New York.

Public Notice

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Water Commissioners of the Albertson Water District, pursuant to the provisions of Subdivision 12 of Section 215 of the Town Law of the State of New York, conduct a public hearing on Tuesday, JULY 21, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. at the Albertson H & L, E & H Co. No. 1, located at 100 I.U. Willets Road, Albertson, New York, to consider whether to establish increased water rates to be paid by consumers of water in the Albertson Water District as proposed by the recent rate study dated June 2020 prepared by NewGen Strategies & Solutions.

AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that notice of such hearing shall be published once in NEWSDAY and otherwise posted as required by law.

ADOPTED unanimously at a regular meeting of the Albertson Water District on the 30th day of June 30, 2020.

Public Notice - Meeting Cancellation

The next scheduled meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the Albertson Water District scheduled for April 7, 2020 has been canceled due to the Coronavirus outbreak and the governor's mandate on social distancing. The next scheduled meeting is April 21, 2020 @ 4:00 pm.

Public Notice - Urgent News About COVID-19 (Coronavirus)

The spread of the coronavirus represents an unprecedented situation. The Albertson Water District has been proactive in addressing the situation and in adhering to the conditions of the existing state of emergency for the public well-being.

Important Points:

  1. The coronavirus is not waterborne.
  2. Your water supply is safe to use in all ways.
  3. Water flow, water pressure and water services are not affected or interrupted by this crisis.
  4. There is no need to stockpile bottled water.

Restricted Access:
In an abundance of caution, the Albertson Water District office at 184 Shepherd Lane, Roslyn Heights, is closed to the public until further notice as we adjust to changing circumstances.

Similarly, Albertson Water District personnel will not ask for entrance to any home unless an emergency condition exists.

Paying Water Bills:
Water bill payment by mail will be received as under normal conditions.

Drop Box:
Check payments for water bills can be left at any time in our drop box. If you have questions or concerns, please call us during normal business hours at 516-621-3610.
